Jamelah's Biography
Jamelah was born on the 24th September 1977. She lived in Brighton with her mum Jackie and her two brothers Kyle and Rhys. She attended Longhill High School and then finished her last two years of school at Varndean High School. When Jamelah finished school she decided to continue with her education at Varndean Sixth Form College. She studied Dance, Drama, Spanish and English.
Jamelah always wanted to be a dancer but from the age of ten she had problems with her knees. By the time she was old enough to move to London for a career in dance she was advised by the doctor to give up before her knees did. This left Jamelah not knowing what to do with her life. She tried several office jobs but she just wasn't happy. So what did she do next?.
Jamelah met Jordan at a bar in Brighton. Jordan had recently appeared on Page 3 of the Sun and said Jamelah should do the same. Jamelah went up to London to see Samantha Bond who was Jordans agent at the time. Samantha really liked her exotic look and thought she would be great for page 3. One week later she had her first page 3 shoot with the Suns famous photographer Beverly Goodway.
In May 1999 Jamelah had her first debut in the Sun. She continued to grace the pages for three years, also appearing in the 2000 and 2001 calendar.
Page 3 led onto a lot of interesting work for Jamelah including panto where she had a lead role, she was also in every lads mag possible - 'Loaded', 'Maxim', 'FHM' etc. She also landed her own radio show with Southern FM that she did every sat morning from 9-12. She was such a hit with the listeners that she would also cover the breakfast show from time to time. This meant Jamelah had to be on air at 6am in the morning! Jamelah loved working for Southern FM but she had to give up when she moved to London.
Jamelah gave up page 3 in 2002 but she's still a successful model. When she gave up page 3 she was asked to appear in the TV show "The Weakest link" as an ex page 3 model. Also on the show were Jamelah's best friends Leilani Dowding and Jakki Degg.
Now Jamelah has got a new interest, model boxing. She also does this with her best buddies Leilani and Jakki. Jamelah, Leilani and Jakki are training to fight other models. They will have head protection but it will be full body contact. So keep a knockout, I mean a look out for 'Jammy Dodger' to see how many rounds she'll go.
Jamelah went to the states to fight in april 2005. She WON her fight winning
every round on points. Jamelah said ''This was one of he best things I've ever experienced, being in the ring was amazing, and winning was even better."
She came back to London undeafeted and even more passionate, and very
determined to box again.
She knew that there wouldn't be very many opportunities for her/models to be
able to fight, so she did something about it.
In june 2005 she set up her own company ''CATFIGHT'', recruiting 12 of
londons top glamour models. She found a fantastic trainer to teach the girls
to box over a five month period and this was the beginning of a new sporting
entertainment.
In november 2005 Catfight held a live event at the hippodrome in londons
leicster square, seating 200 dinner guests and 500 standiing and they were
the first to witness londons first ever model boxing event.
The night was filmed and due to appear as a 6 part series on bravo in april
2006. Jamelah plans to take this around the country and abroad, recruitng even
more gorgeous girls.
Jamelah's modelling has taken a back seat for now, but you definatly haven't
seen or heard the last of Jamelah. Catfight 2 is due to take place in june
2006.
